Seneca Rocks

This farm lies off Route 33 just south of Seneca Rocks in Pendleton County, WV.

We are the West Virginia BackHome Chapter.  A membership of homesteaders, who encourage participation on all levels.  Neighbors from PA, MD, VA and KY are welcome.

The BackHome Chapter idea is to introduce all the folks "of like mind" to each other. It’s a given that if someone is a reader of the BackHome magazine they already have an interest in gardening, frugality, living simply and being in harmony with nature. They may already be living in the country, started a homestead lifestyle and are producing most of what they need to live on from their own places. Or maybe they’re in the planning stages, looking for land, saving their money and biding their time. They may be planning on doing more from their homes to supplement living expenses or actually earn all their cash needs from home based businesses.  They may have already "been there-done that" and still maintain an interest in sharing their advice and experiences with a new generation of budding homesteaders.

We are always looking for people that are interested in homesteading, are actively pursuing it, or are in a related activity.   We invite anybody interested in the issues that arise in establishing a homestead, managing one or have an interest in simplified living, simplicity, sustainable agriculture, alternate energy and building methods, autonomy and independence.

We want to encourage participation on all levels.
